ABOUT

The practice,
and the person behind it.

Our practice is rooted in a grounded, realistic approach to yoga and mindfulness — one that supports long-term wellbeing through clarity, consistency and calm.

Rather than focusing on extremes or aesthetics, the emphasis is on what is sustainable and supportive in everyday life.

HOW WE TEACH

Grounded, unhurried, considered

Classes are paced with care. Instruction is clear and specific — not vague encouragement, but practical guidance that helps you understand what you are doing and why. Modifications are always offered. Nobody is pushed to do more than feels right for their body on a given day.

Small, regular practice is treated as genuinely meaningful. You do not need to be on the mat for ninety minutes five times a week for yoga to be useful. What matters is consistency and attention — and those are achievable for most people, even within a full life.

ABOUT THE TEACHER

A lifetime of movement, a decade of practice

AlignStill's lead teacher is a qualified, insured yoga teacher based in South West London — rooted in a lifelong relationship with movement, and a yoga practice deepened significantly through injury and recovery.

That experience shapes everything: a genuine understanding of what it means to move with care, not force.

AlignStill is built as more than a solo practice. The intention is to grow into a home for considered, grounded yoga — a collective of like-minded teachers who share the same values of calm instruction, no performance pressure, and movement that works for real people in real life.

MEDITATION

Stillness as practice

Meditation is woven into the practice, not added as an afterthought. The approach is shaped by Korean Buddhist traditions — a singing bowl and Seon stick are used in sessions, and the practice is deepened through periodic visits to Buddhist temples.

There is something in that tradition — an emphasis on calm as something cultivable, not just accidental — that feels particularly relevant for the kind of busy urban lives most people are living.

Sessions close with a few minutes of stillness. It is one of the most consistently valued parts of the class.

Who this work supports

We welcome anyone who wants to move with more care — beginners, those returning after a gap, people managing stress or injury, and busy professionals looking for something that fits into real life. On the corporate side, the work suits London businesses and teams looking for reliable, professionally delivered workplace wellbeing.

Some sessions are taught by other qualified yoga teachers who share the same approach. That flexibility means the work is never dependent on a single diary.

"Yoga does not need to be complicated to be effective."

With clarity and consistency, it becomes something you can return to again and again.
